Slit a slice of lime and run it around the rim of glass to wet it.
Put salt or sugar on a plate to rim the glass. Slowly turn the glass parallel to the plate apply salt to the outside rim.
In a blender, add frozen and unfrozen cantaloupe, simple sugar, lemon lime soda, triple sec, tequila and squeezed lime juice. If your blender has the smoothie program, press that or the equivalent function.
Note: While blending, you can add more tequila depending on your taste or make tequila available for people who prefers a stronger drink.
Garnish margarita glasses with cantaloupe balls, a slice of lime and cantaloupe.
Pour cantaloupe margarita.
Enjoy!
Notes
For non-alcoholic cantaloupe margarita, don’t add tequila and triple sec.
Aside from cantaloupe, you can substitute strawberries, watermelon, kiwi, berries or mangoes.
When making drinks in a blender, don't add too much tequila. Some people cannot tolerate a strong drink. Make tequila bottle available to people who prefers stronger drinks.
Freeze cantaloupe cubes instead of ice cubes. Drinks are richer and tastier and not watered down.
Cantaloupe can get thick when blended, so it is best to add some cold lemon lime drink with it. Frozen limeade can be used too.
Also, if you have time, chill your glasses in the fridge and don't forget to rim the glasses with salt or sugar.
If you are serving this outside, I suggest you store the leftover drink in a cooler, in a container full of ice, or in the refrigerator. Refrigerate for up to 2 days
