½teaspoonchili pepper powder
1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 ½cupbeer
1 ½cupsof your favorite barbecue sauce
Instructions
Wash baby back ribs and remove the tough membrane at the back of ribs.
Prepare the seasoning. Combine brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper & smoked paprika. Mix well.
Spread seasoning evenly on both sides of ribs.
Install condensation collector at the back of instant pot.
Pour beer in the inner pot.
Install trivet in the inner pot and place the whole ribs. I am using a 6 quarts pot.
Plug instant pot and close lid.
Turn steam release handle to “SEALING”.
Press “PRESSURE COOK” to high pressure and set time to 25 minutes. Time will vary depending on the weight of ribs. Also, I like my ribs tender but not falling of the bone. If you prefer a very tender ribs that is falling off the bone you need to increase the time by a few minutes.
Wait a few minutes and the Float Valve will be in the up position. This means that the pot is pressurize. Do not touch.
The display will show “ON” then a countdown in time starting from 25 minutes.
Once it is done with the cook time, the display will show the elapsed time. Example L001. Press “CANCEL” to stop the Pressure Cook program. Unplug pot.
Wait until Float Valve is in the down position. Note: Right after it is done cooking you can manually release the steam but be very careful. Please refer to the instant pot manual.
Once float valve is down, turn steam release handle to “VENTING”. You may now open the lid.
Remove the ribs.
Spread your favorite BBQ sauce all over ribs.
Broil ribs from 2 to 4 minutes. When sauce starts bubbling, remove ribs. It can burn easily.
Cut ribs individually or serve it as a whole. Serve hot. Enjoy!
