How to Make Turmeric Tea
This turmeric tea is a refreshing and soothing drink made by boiling water with turmeric.

thumb size turmeric
washed and peeled

Instructions
Wash and peel turmeric root into matchstick sizes. (Be sure to wear gloves as it will stain your fingers.)
Boil water on the stove with turmeric root.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Turn off heat.
Transfer the drink to a pitcher using a strainer but don't discard the boiled turmeric root.
Serve hot or cold. Add honey, sugar, lemon, orange juice or milk, if desired.
Notes
You can also add whole turmeric roots in the pot.
Don’t discard the turmeric root after boiling, instead reuse it for another batch. Refrigerate recycled turmeric for up to 3 days.
Remember to wear gloves when peeling turmeric as it will stain your hands.
The tea can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
