October is pumpkin spice season and this Pumpkin Spice Baked Sweet Potato Chips are so simple to make.
When I go to the grocery store the first thing I see are pumpkins and the lingering smell of pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.
I stopped by the Asian store the other day to get one item and end up spending over $100. If I leave the store with just one item something must be wrong.
I always find something to buy which are not planned. Some days the store have packages of vegetables and fruits on sale for a $1. I never paid attention on these packages before but lately I’m finding myself digging through these bags.
They had 6 sweet potatoes and 6 purple yams packaged together for a $1. That was a very good deal.
I am not going to pass on this good deal, so I grabbed a bag and decided to make Ginataang Halo Halo too. I only used 2 of each, so I still have a lot sitting on my kitchen counter.
I hate to see it go to waste so I decided to make Pumpkin Spice Baked Sweet Potato Chips.
Baked chips are delicious and healthier snack than frying. I also had plantain bananas that I made into pumpkin spice banana chips.
How to Make Baked Sweet Potato Chips
You can use a mandoline slicer for even slices or a knife and use your finger to guide how thick to cut. Be careful not to cut yourself.
Slice it thinly so it bakes evenly. Grease the baking sheet and lay your sweet potatoes. Sprinkle each pieces with pumpkin spice. If you desire, season with salt too.
Can you fry sweet potatoes? Yes, you can.
I can attach a video if I get many request for it. This baked sweet potato chips recipe is quick and simple to make, so I decided not to publish the video.
