This Honey Glazed Ham is tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors. The glaze caramelizes as the ham roasts, creating a glossy, golden-brown exterior that is slightly crispy in some areas while maintaining a juicy, tender interior.

Why you’ll love it
The irresistible flavor of the honey glazed ham makes it the centerpiece of your holiday celebration. Its convenience and ease of preparation make it an excellent option for large meals or busy gatherings.
What ham to buy
For this recipe, I am using a Spiral-cut Bone-in ham that offers several advantages, making it a popular choice for holidays and large gatherings. Most spiral hams are already pre-cooked, meaning you only need to reheat it. This can save you a lot of time compared to preparing a whole, uncooked ham from scratch.
It is pre-sliced evenly in a spiral shape, making it much easier to serve. No need to worry with the tedious carving of the ham.
Also, the glaze easily seeps into the slices, adding extra moisture and flavor.
Tips
Remove the packaging and place the ham flat-side down in a shallow roasting pan. Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 15 minutes per pound, or until heated through. Be sure not to overcook.
Let the savory glaze drip into the slices and penetrate the meat.
For a small group of people, frying a baked ham afterward can enhance its flavor and texture. It adds a crispy, caramelized exterior, but be careful not to over-fry, as that could dry the meat out. A quick pan-fry or sear in a hot skillet with a bit of oil or butter should be enough.
Save the ham bone to make ham broth or soup.
Serving per person
If you’re serving the ham as the main dish alongside other sides, allow ½ to ¾ pound per person.
Storing leftovers
Store leftover ham in an airtight container up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
To freeze ham, store in an airtight container up to a month, if vacuum sealed up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before warming.
Reheating leftovers
Fry leftover ham on a non-stick pan with 1 tablespoon oil. Fry each side for 30 seconds or longer, depending on your preference.
Bake or Broil at 350 degrees F or lower for 3 to 4 minutes.
Microwave – Drizzle some ham juice or ham sauce and microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute for 2 slices. Adjust time for more slices.
