Strawberry Banana Smoothie is nutritious and refreshing to have anytime of day. Strawberries are in season and they are huge and very sweet. Guess what, the best time to make my favorite classic Strawberry Banana Smoothie.

Banana is another fruit that is always available in our household. I’m very picky when it comes to eating bananas. Once I start seeing brown spots, it is too ripe for my taste but great to use for my smoothie.

I cut the bananas into smaller pieces, portioned and placed in the freezer. When craving strikes for any type of smoothie, I have frozen bananas ready to be used.

I prefer to use frozen bananas instead of adding ice cubes. It keeps my smoothie creamy and not watery.

Mornings can be hectic for most households. Most of us are rushing to get ready for work and getting the kids prepared for school.

Making Strawberry Banana Smoothie is quick and easy to make even on a busy morning. Toss-in all the ingredients in the blender and in 30 seconds or so, you can have this delicious smoothie.

No time to eat in the morning, pour smoothie in a mason jar and bring with you.

Start your morning with a refreshing smoothie that can energized you all day.

Get creative, add some flax seed, chia seed, protein powder or any healthy ingredients you like. Even with or without this other ingredients having this basic Strawberry Banana Smoothie is delicious as well.

It takes less than a minute to make smoothie.

The great thing about making your own smoothie, you can make it without sugar, you are able to choose the ingredients and you are saving money. They are not cheap but much cheaper if you make it yourself.

Most store-bought smoothie has sugar and I cannot stand it when it’s too sweet. Sometimes, I wonder if they taste their product for sweetness and flavor.

Tips in Making Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Check the bananas. Use the ones that are starting to show brown spots so they don’t go to waste and they are great for smoothies.

Cut some of bananas and keep it frozen. Don’t use all frozen bananas so your smoothie is not as thick but just enough creaminess. Do the same with strawberries.

Remove the leaves from strawberries and cut in half. Freeze some and the rest refrigerated.

Freeze half of the strawberry and banana instead of using ice.

When ready, add all the ingredients in your blender and use the smoothie program. In 30 seconds or so, your refreshing creamy smoothie is ready.

Don't overfill your blender when making smoothie.

Note: You can make this Strawberry Banana Smoothie with yogurt or without. It is delicious even with only 3 ingredients.

Don’t add sugar since strawberry and banana are sweet. If you do, use agave as sugar substitute.

You can prepare your smoothie with dairy or non dairy. I am using milk but you can substitute almond milk or coconut milk, which ever you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 2 banana
  • 3 cups strawberries
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 6oz Greek yogurt
US Customary - Metric

Instructions

  • Cut banana into smaller pieces and place ½ in the freezer.
  • Wash and remove strawberry leaves and cut in half. Freeze ½ of strawberry.
  • Place all ingredients in blender and use smoothie program.
  • Makes 2 big servings. Enjoy!
